How to use KGUARD Key Pouch correctly before getting in the water

The waterproof performance of any pouch depends both on its design and on using it correctly. With KGUARD, a few simple actions are worth turning into a routine.
First, look at the key. If it has a metal blade, hard edges or an irregular shape, avoid leaving those elements pressing directly against the neck of the pouch. Insert the plastic head towards the bottom first and keep the metal section oriented towards the centre.
The silicone is highly elastic, but it should be stretched evenly with both hands rather than pulled sharply at one point.
Once the key is inside, prepare the closure according to the KGUARD instructions. The original ring should move beyond the fold into the cord area, with even pressure from both sides. Correct positioning matters because it allows the system to work as designed.
Finally, visually check the assembly before entering the water and secure the cord appropriately for your activity.
After using KGUARD in salt water, rinse it with fresh water and allow it to dry away from strong heat sources and prolonged direct sunlight.
There are only a few steps. After several sessions they become just another automatic part of the routine, like waxing your board or closing your wetsuit zip.
And if your key is particularly large or irregular, do not force it: KGUARD XL may be the more appropriate option.
